Why the Xribbon X1 diffuse LED flex strip have so good color consistency <3 SDCM even after IP67 waterproof process?

Let’s start from 2 research centers of our company, the LED component encapsulation technology research center and silicone co-extrusion waterproof technology research center.

LED component encapsulation technology research center

In 2018, Coolight start to established our own SMD LED component department, and begin to do research work on SMD LED component encapsulation technology. The LED component encapsulation technology research center mainly focus on research on how to improving the binning performance of LED components and how to get better acceptability of customized LED component.

During the research work, we got a lot experience of how to make the right and high quality LED components for flexible LED linear strip products.

Silicone extrusion waterproof technology research center

And many years before, we noticed that after the silicone waterproof process, the light performance of LED components including color temperature(CCT) have some shifting and the color consistency turn bad. This problem is very big and very bad problem for flexible LED strips, so we established a research center of silicone extrusion waterproof technology.

We made a union team including the members of above two research centers, and try to make clear that how to make sure the final waterproof products have good color consistency and high CRI performance.

Luckly, we got some fruits during the last years researching work, that is why the Xribbon X1 IP67 waterproof diffused flexible LED strip have so good color consistency within 3 step MacAdam even at CRI Ra>90.
